Raaya by Atmosphere
A 100-acre island, seven ways to eat, and a castaway story behind it all.
An island resort on Rasmaadhoo
Raaya by Atmosphere occupies a 100-acre naturally formed private island in the Raa Atoll, about 164 km from Malé. The island has mangrove forest running through it and holds seven dining venues, an Ayurvedic spa, an on-site dive and watersports centre, and a kids club with a zipline and shipwreck. The resort earned Green Globe Certification for sustainability and threads a loose 'castaway' character — named after a fictional islander called Seb — through its farm-to-table restaurant and general atmosphere. Room categories run from beach villas to overwater villas with private pools, and the largest family villa stretches to 232 m².
Who this stay suits
A large, activity-heavy private-island resort with serious dining variety, pool villas at most price points, and a premium all-inclusive plan available.
Best for
- Couples wanting overwater villas with private pools
- Families with children aged 4–12
- Divers and watersports enthusiasts
- Guests who want multiple specialty restaurants on one island
Less suited to
- Travellers wanting a small, low-key property
- Those on a tight schedule (seaplane transfer required)
The island itself
At 100 acres, this is a genuinely large private island. Mangrove forest covers part of it, and the outdoor activity zone adds padel tennis, a football ground, a skateboard park, 9-hole crazy golf, and beach volleyball to what you'd find at a typical Maldives resort.
Seven places to eat
The dining spread is unusual for a single island. Seb's Farm does farm-to-table dinners using island produce. The Village handles Italian hand-crafted pastas. MIZĀJ covers Middle Eastern specialty dining. AMPERS&ND is pan-Asian with locally sourced seafood, and its rooftop bar runs until midnight.
Overwater and beach villas
Water villas sit over the lagoon from 73 m². Beach villas start at 61 m² and face the sea directly. Every category from Water Villa with Pool upward has a private plunge pool, and the Deluxe Water Villa with Pool covers 92 m² as a full standalone.
ELE | NA Ayur spa
The spa runs on Ayurvedic wellness principles. It is a dedicated facility within the resort, separate from the fitness centre, giving guests a treatment-focused option that goes beyond the standard massage menu common to most Maldives resorts.
Discovery Den Kids Club
Complimentary for ages 4–12, the Discovery Den has a natural playground, campsites, a zipline, a trampoline, and a shipwreck feature. It is a genuine dedicated facility rather than a supervised room.
Dive and watersports on site
There is an on-site dive and watersports centre. Snorkelling, diving, and kayaking are all available without arranging a separate boat operator — activities run directly from the island.
